Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter is an American producer and actress who has been recognized for her highly commendable performances in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. The film Piano earned her numerous awards, among them an Oscar. Her career in acting started with Broadway and she worked on a wide range of Broadway and Off Broadway initiatives. From her early years she's been enthusiastic about the art of acting. The role she played was Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in the school's play. She was born deaf in the one ear as a result of mellitus, but didn't allow this handicap to hinder her determination to become an actress. The college she attended was drama after which she moved between Pittsburgh and moved to New York City to follow her goals. Hunter made her Broadway debut following a chance encounter in the company of Beth Henley, a playwright. The two worked together on Broadway Crimes of the Heart. When she moved into Los Angeles, Hunter tried to find movie roles. A role in the supporting part was securing for her in Swing Shift. She has since appeared in numerous films and shows and TV films over a career spanning more than 30 years. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame actor and has won the Women in Film Lucy Award.
